Mood In the Market: H1 2025

The Earth has travelled 149.60 million km round the Sun. Winter has fallen, spring has sprung, and - like the tides - Wisdom has released another batch of hot-off-the-press, fresh data updates.

How are people feeling?

  • Canada: Canadians are happier, and slightly more likely to want to leave their role.
  • United States: Workers are less happy, and less engaged. The turmoil of the last few months seems to have taken a toll.
  • United Kingdom: Here, workers are making moves. 8.5% moved last half, up on 7.4% the half before. They’re a tinier bit happier too
  • India: Workers are less happy, and less engaged - with both scores showing the biggest jumps in our data. They’re also moving more, with 4.3% of people moving role in the past half, up from 2.7% the year before
  • EU: The EU market is happier and more engaged. The EU’s become a stickier market, with people both leaving less and less inclined to want to move.

What’s in and out for work priorities? The story for work priorities is workers care less about who is boss - and more about how and when we’re interacting with them.

What's in?

Work Life Balance has climbed up - ranking 0.6 places higher, and firmly securing the second spot in what people - after pay - want from work. Flexibility also climbed 3 spots, and Remote Work 2.6 places - people are paying more attention to being able to do what work they want when they want to.

What's out?

Management dropped 2 places and Leadership fell 5. Workers are less fussed about whose in charge
